have been made for them to lodge and board at the Church

Missionary House. The cost of this board and lodging will be

$6 each per month and will amount in all to $216 a year.

As this experiment may if successful

prove a great boon to the Chinese Community, and as it is

usual for the Government to provide board and lodging for

probationers in the Medical Department, I have the honour to

request your authority to include this sum in the total of

9528 for which I recommend provision should be made in the

Estimates for 1904.
